The Vic tour
The route begins as an immersion into Vic’s medieval urbanism, exploring the origins of the city’s layout and its generating nodes within the urban fabric. The Industrial Revolution, particularly the textile sector, and the resulting sociology of the Catalan bourgeoisie constitute another focal point of interest.
The journey continues through Vic’s historical layers: its Roman origins as a distant palimpsest; the Baroque era as a stage for new urban and cultural projects; the scars left by the Civil War; and the vitality of contemporary architecture, including spaces like the magnificent theatre l’Atlàntida, now a new urban and cultural node. Throughout the route, the city unfolds like a living tapestry, inviting visitors to understand Vic through the territorial logic of the Plana and reflect on the city as it is today.
